INSIDE ROOMS AND HOUSES

PILLOWS 

In the double beds we always have 2 types of pillows - one softer, made of feathers and down; and the other firmer and denser, made of natural latex. If you would like to change your pillow or request an extra one, please contact Reception. 

AMENITIES

At Gandum, we chose the Portuguese amenities brand 8950, which incorporates the authentic aromas of local plants from the Algarve region to create incredible products. The shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body cream are available in dispensers in the bathrooms and if you need any accessories such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, cotton buds or a shower cap, you can ask at Reception. We also have these and other products for sale in our store.

AIR CONDITIONING

Our rooms and apartments are equipped with air conditioning, the temperature of which can be adjusted to suit you. To turn it on, press the button at the top of the small screen until you see ON, then select the temperature you want using the "+" and "-" symbols. To turn it off, press the button at the top of the small screen again until you see OFF. 

SAFE

SAFE IN THE ROOMS

Our rooms are equipped with a key safe inside the closets. To use it, simply ask at reception for the key.

SAFE IN HOUSES

Our houses are equipped with a safe inside the closets which should be open when the guest first arrives at the apartment. To use it, just follow the instructions:

• Slide the battery cover inside slightly;

• Press the reset button (A);

• Program a code of your choice (from 4 to 8 digits) and then press #.

• When you turn the latch, the safe will be operational with the chosen code.

RESPONSIBILITY

Gandum Village is not responsible for money, jewelry or other valuables that are not placed in the safekeeping service provided at Reception. 

CHILDREN 

The hotel offers cribs, baby chair and acrylic tableware for children. Some of these items may come at an additional cost. For more information, please contact Reception.

HOUSEKEEPING

The rooms and apartments are cleaned every day. Bed linen and towels are changed on the third day of your stay. If you wish to change the bed linen and towels beforehand, please leave the towels on the floor after use. 

INTERNET 

To access the Internet, log on to the "GUEST" free access network and authenticate yourself by accepting the terms and conditions. No password is required.

HOME KITCHENETTES

The kitchenettes in the houses are equipped with a microwave, electric kettle, plates, glasses and cutlery. If you need other kitchen utensils, you can ask at reception - we can't guarantee we'll have everything, but we'll try!

WASTE AND RECYCLING

The rooms and houses have a waste separation system and all the bins are labeled. We ask you to pay special attention to organic waste; there is a specific small container.

The organic waste bin accepts biodegradable waste such as food scraps, fruit and vegetable peelings, coffee grounds and tea bags. It avoids plastic, glass, metal, chemicals, aluminum foil or non-biodegradable products such as diapers and personal hygiene products, to ensure that the waste decomposes properly and that the composting process is effective. We collect organic waste on a daily basis and, once it has been composted, we use it as natural fertilizer for our agroforests. 

In the rooms, there are also bins for all kinds of recyclable waste: glass, paper, plastic and metal packaging.

FURNITURE, TEXTILES AND ILLUSTRATIONS 

At Gandum we value Portuguese companies with the same work ethic as ours. That's why all the textiles, from bed linen to bath towels, are made from organic cotton produced in Portugal. Furniture, both indoor and outdoor, is mostly created and produced in Portugal by designers, craftspeople and companies who share our commitment to sustainability. What is not produced in Portugal we choose quality European companies that continue to follow our values. To find out more about our suppliers and partners, ask at Reception or follow this link.

We put a lot of love into it and invest as much as we can to provide high quality at a fair price. In the event of damage to any piece of furniture, the customer will be charged for the repair, we hope you understand!

NO SMOKING

Smoking is prohibited inside the rooms and houses, in any of the rooms. To do this, use the space outside the rooms or houses, where there are ashtrays. There are also ashtrays all over Gandum. So please don't throw your cigarette butts on the ground. As well as polluting, it's very dangerous and can compromise everyone's safety by starting a fire.

PHONE

All rooms and houses have a telephone which you can use to contact reception and communicate with other rooms. To contact reception press 222 and to contact another room press 2 followed by the room number. If you wish to call other numbers, you must call Reception, who will forward the phone call. 

TELEVISION

All the apartments have a television. To use the television, simply turn on the remote control. It may take some time (25 seconds) before an image appears on the screen. You can check the list of available channels in the table at the bottom of this page.

ADAPTERS AND VOLTAGE

The local voltage is 220/240 V; 50 Hz.
Please contact Reception if you need an adapter. 

OUR additional services

BREAKFAST

Breakfast is served in the dining room of our restaurant or on the outdoor terrace from 8am to 10.30am. To find out more about our breakfast, check out this page.

Lunch, snacks, bar and dinner

Lunch - from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Dinner - from 7pm to 10pm

Bar (snacks and drinks) - every day from 08:00 to 23:00

ACTIVITIES

PETS

At Gandum Village we accept pets for an additional fee, namely dogs and cats, which must be well-mannered and comply with our rules of good coexistence. For more information, please consult the pet regulations in our "Terms and Conditions", available at www.gandum.pt. 

BAGGAGE

Reception has a secure area where you can leave your luggage for a few hours if necessary. 

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

Check-in takes place from 15h00 and check-out until 12h00. If you want an early check-in or late check-out, you must check availability with Reception. Late check-out without checking availability with Reception will incur an additional charge. 

COWORKING

Our coworking space has 12 seats at a shared desk and two soundproof booths. It is open every day from 08h00 to 19h00. You can check the rental prices on our website or at Reception. 

LOST AND FOUND

In the event that you have lost any personal belongings in any of the Gandum spaces, or found any personal belongings that someone else may have lost, please contact Reception. 

SWIMMING POOL

You can pick up your pool towel at the La Terrace bar, next to the pool, or at reception. Pool hours are from 10:00 to 20:00. Please do not use the towels in the rooms for this purpose. Please return the towels to the place where you picked them up.

RECEPTION 

Our reception desk is open in person from 07h00 to 00h00. If you need any information outside these hours, you can contact reception on 266 079 000 or via extension 222. 

MEETING ROOM 

Our meeting room on the ground floor of the Coworking building is ideal for team meetings, workshops and presentations, and has a capacity of 25 to 40 seats, depending on the arrangement of tables and chairs. For more information contact Reception or visit the following page. 

TRANSFER AND CAB SERVICES

The hotel can organize a transfer service or request a cab. Please contact Reception. 

ELECTRIC CARS

Right now you can find a charging station for electric vehicles. Our aim is to build another one in the short to medium term. To find out the location and unlock it for charging, contact reception. More information on prices and conditions here.

HEALTH CENTER AND HOSPITAL

The city of Montemor-o-Novo has a 24-hour emergency service. The contact number is 266 898 904.

The nearest hospital with a pediatric service is in Évora, about 30 km away. The contact number for this establishment is 266 740 100. 

The national emergency number is 112.

There is also a First Aid box in Reception for minor situations.

EMERGENCY 

In the event of an emergency, use the emergency plans that are signposted in the rooms and follow the instructions of the hotel staff. 

PHARMACIES

There are several pharmacies in Montemor-o-Novo which are open Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you need a pharmacy outside these hours, please contact Reception to find out which pharmacy is on duty. 

CHILDREN IN GANDUM 

At Gandum, playing is a very serious matter, which is why we've created the spaces, activities and freedom for children to have a lot of fun here. And parents too. But never leave them without adult supervision. 

Children's playground

There is a playground next to the restaurant terrace, designed for babies and toddlers. For the more adventurous, there is a playground on the other side of the Gandum stream (suitable for children aged 3 to 12). In both, children can and should play under the supervision of an adult. 

ACTIVITIES for children and families

Gandum offers children's activities. To find out more about these activities, please ask at Reception or consult the "Experiences" page on our website.

BALLS AND TABLE TENNIS

You can use our basketball and soccer court by ordering game balls from Reception. Ping pong balls and rackets can be ordered from Reception as well.

BABY CHANGING ROOM 

There are baby changing facilities in the bathrooms of the restaurant and the changing rooms in the pool area next to the restaurant.

MENU  

Our menus are designed for children too, with various options available. We don't have a specific kitchen for handling allergen-free food, so if you have any dietary restrictions, please let Reception know so we can adjust our offer.

SWIMMING POOL FOR THE LITTLE ONES 

Next to the main pool is a smaller, shallower pool with warmer water for all the children.
