Made to Measure, with Local Hands
We believe in the power of craftsmanship and the value of the local community. Many of Gandum's furnishings and details were custom-made by national carpenters, including artisans from Montemor-o-Novo. Each piece carries with it the history and talent of the hands that created it.

The Gandum Palette
Gandum's tones reflect the Alentejo: neutral and natural, like the beiges and browns of the land, combined with vibrant colors that bring energy and personality. These contrasts create a balanced environment that welcomes and inspires.
Design with Purpose
At Gandum, design is not just a question of aesthetics, but an expression of who we are. Every piece, every color and every detail has been chosen to provide comfort, functionality and a genuine connection to the space and the community.

Architecture that Lives in Harmony with Nature
At Gandum, architecture isn't just a set of buildings - it's an extension of the landscape, a celebration of natural materials and a commitment to sustainability. Every detail has been thought out to create spaces that respect the environment, highlight the beauty of the Alentejo and provide a welcoming and authentic experience.
Design for People and the Planet
The buildings, designed by Atelier Cru of the Minga Cooperative, reflect a vision of inclusive and regenerative architecture. The architects' work balances the simplicity of the forms with the complexity of the materials, creating spaces that invite coexistence, introspection and contemplation of nature.

Atelier Cru: Sustainable and Impactful Architecture
Atelier Cru, part of the Minga Cooperative, is a collective of visionary architects based in Montemor-o-Novo that combines creativity with environmental responsibility. With an approach centered on the use of local techniques and materials, Atelier Cru creates spaces that dialogue with the landscape and respect the cultural identity of the Alentejo. Through the use of traditional methods, such as rammed earth construction, and natural and recycled materials, such as cork, wood and Viroc, the studio offers architectural solutions that combine beauty, functionality and sustainability.
At Gandum, Atelier Cru has imprinted its vision of regenerative architecture, designing buildings that emphasize comfort, energy efficiency and integration with nature. Every detail reflects a commitment to conscientious practices and valuing the local community, from collaborating with regional artisans and suppliers to creating spaces that invite conviviality and introspection. The result is architecture that not only serves, but inspires - a testament to innovation with purpose.
Natural Architecture: Inspired by the Earth
Gandum's buildings are built with taipa, an ancient technique that uses compressed earth, ensuring thermal insulation and integrating the buildings into the Alentejo landscape. Elements of cork and lime reinforce the use of local materials, while wood and metal balance tradition and modernity. The inclusion of plants on the façades and pergolas not only beautifies the spaces, but also improves the microclimate, creating shade and cooling the environment.
Portuguese Materials: Quality and Sustainability
Concern for the origin of materials is present in every corner. From the Revigrés tiles, which cover the spaces with contemporary design, to the Sanitana tableware, all made in Portugal, the choice of local suppliers reflects our commitment to sustainability and the national economy. The high-quality Hansgrohe taps and showers guarantee a luxurious and water-efficient experience. For sockets and switches, we clearly chose the Portuguese brand EFAPEL with the Quadro 45 range.
In addition, we integrated recycled materials such as Viroc, a mixture of cement and recycled wood, which combines modern aesthetics with functionality. Each element has been chosen to reduce the ecological footprint, without compromising on comfort or design.
