Taipa is a traditional building technique that uses raw earth to form sturdy, sustainable walls. Widely used in regions such as the Alentejo, this method stands out for its thermal efficiency, offering excellent natural insulation properties that keep interiors cool in summer and warm in winter. In addition, taipa is environmentally friendly, as it uses local resources and significantly reduces the environmental impact of construction, aligning perfectly with Gandum Village's sustainability principles.

The Cloister building in Gandum Village, so named because it was inspired by monastery cloisters. This space stands out for its earthen arcades, reminiscent of monastic architecture, and includes 18 double rooms. There is also a room specially adapted for people with reduced mobility. All the rooms have balconies, some with views of the vineyard and Montemor-o-Novo castle, others of the stream and forest. At the top, 260 solar panels will produce all the energy needed for Gandum Village.
